Sport Calgary – CALGARY, Alberta — Sport Calgary joins with the rest of the city in mourning the passing of Ron Southern. “Mr. Southern was a great Calgarian,” said Murray Sigler, Executive Director & CEO of Sport Calgary, “and he was a lifelong champion for for sport in our city. He will be sorely missed. On behalf of everyone involved in sport, we extend our deepest condolences to his family.”

Southern, who was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2006, offered tremendous support to numerous sport activities in Calgary, and was instrumental in helping build Calgary into a world-class sport city. His legacy will be felt in this city for generations to come.
