7th Annual Doug Brown KidSport Winnipeg Football Camp will follow the media challenge.

The NFL & CFL combines took place a month ago and now it’s your turn to find out what it feels like to participate and get a first-hand perspective of football’s biggest off-season challenge. Winnipeg’s local media contingent are invited to team up and square off against each other in a mini-combine for what promises to be an entertaining afternoon and an interesting display of skills.

If you ever thought you could kick further, run faster or catch that ball better – well now is your chance to show Doug, Troy, Chris, Glenn and a number of other current and former Bombers just how it’s done. They will no doubt be appreciative of your abilities. Alternatively, if you’ve never aspired to gridiron greatness, the guys will be happy to coach you along and give you some pointers as you move from one station to another.

It’s not about winning, athleticism is not a requirement; should the 40 yard dash take you 40 minutes you will not be have your picture taken by all and immediately put on Twitter. It is worth stating, however, that if you ever felt your talents were somehow overlooked and under-scouted, this may just be the breakthrough opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

The challenge will begin with all participating in the 40 yard dash, the most glamourous of combine events, and groups will then move through broad & vertical jump stations, long snapping & kicking, some cone and tackling drills (not against Doug, we promise) and will end with an obstacle course and perhaps some requests for interviews from your peers.

Rise up to the challenge of your rivals and sign up!

RSVP For Your First Hand Experience

Following the challenge the 7th Annual Doug Brown KidSport Winnipeg football camp will take place where Doug and the other players will take approximately 100 kids through a combine and a number of position-specific fundamental drills and exercises. The camp is open to kids who received funding in 2015 from KidSport in order to play football and is supported by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Keener Jerseys and KidSport Winnipeg.

Media are invited to stay for the camp, players and kids will be available for interview.
