Triathlon BC – After a brief hiatus from the provincial race calendar, Triathlon BC is thrilled to offer a full slate of 2019 World Championship qualifying events throughout the 2018 season. Age group athletes will have the opportunity to earn the right to represent the esteemed Red and White colors of Triathlon Canada’s National Age Group Teams in six different disciplines next year; Aquabike, Cross Triathlon, Duathlon and Sprint, Standard and Long Distance Triathlon.

“After witnessing the incredible Multisport Championships in Penticton, we’re delighted to host so many qualifying events in BC, said Allan Prazsky, Executive Director of Triathlon BC. “The opportunity to represent Canada at a major World Championship is truly unique, and something to be celebrated. Seeing just how competitive these fields are, my hat goes off to every single athlete that attempts to secure a World Championship spot!”

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) holds both Multisport World Championships, consisting of Aquabike, Aquathlon, Duathlon, Cross Triathlon and Long Distance Triathlon, and the Grand Final, hosting the World Championships in Sprint and Standard Distance Triathlon. Held in a different location every year, the World Championships and the Grand Final attract thousands of like-minded athletes, and mark the end of the season for elite and pro athletes, together with age group competitors alike.
