Sport Manitoba – What:     
Scheifele and Morrissey will be carefully instructed by professional race car driver, David Richert, on how to pilot the 911 Carrera S safely around the circuit.

Where:      
Gimli Motorsport Park (Gimli, Manitoba) 
The race track is located approximately 45 minutes north of the North Perimeter Hwy on Highway 8. You will find the track entrance off Hwy 231, approximately 2 kms west of Hwy 8.
Once you are at the facility, make your way across the track and head towards the middle of the grounds. Drive on the west side (right) of the guardrails alongside the spectator seating. We will be set up by the picnic shelters.

After standout seasons in the fast paced world of the National Hockey League, Winnipeg Jet teammates Mark Scheifele and Josh Morrissey will have the chance to experience a taste of what life is like in another fast paced environment as they climb behind the wheel of a  Porsche 911 Carrera S at Gimli Motorsport Park.   

– Media will also have the opportunity to experience a ride with David Richert around the race track
– Lunch will be provided by Danny’s Whole Hog at 11.30am

Scheifele and Morrissey will be carefully instructed by professional race car driver, David Richert, on how to pilot the 911 Carrera S safely around the circuit.  

The entire event is being run in conjunction with the Mark Scheifele Golf Tournament in support of KidSport Winnipeg’s initiative to help remove the financial barriers preventing children from playing organized sport.   At last year’s tournament, Kevin Stobbe took the winning bid on an auction prize that will see him join Scheifele, Morrissey and Richert at the track for a fun morning learning how to pilot a Porsche around the race circuit.  

The event is sponsored by Porsche Centre Winnipeg, Danny’s Whole Hog, KidSport Winnipeg, and Richert Racing.

KidSport is a national charity administered in Manitoba by Sport Manitoba which provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.
