Nova Scotia Golf Association – The River Oaks Golf Club hosted the 2016 Bronze Championship today.  A field of 59 competitors from around the province represented 15 NSGA Member clubs and competed under near perfect weather conditions.
 
The Bronze is a net championship where competitors qualify through their home clubs. This annual net championship requires competitors to have a 19.0 factor or greater at the time of qualifying.
Clubs can field teams of up to five competitors and the lowest two net scores are combined to determine a team championship.
 
The team of Judy Kiley and Tammy Gannon from the Oakfield Golf Club captured the 2016 title. The pair teamed up to card an 8 under par 138 to lead their club to victory.  
 
The first low net went to Lorraine Purcell and Shelley King from the Avon Valley Golf Club who finished four strokes behind the champions with a net four under par 142.
 
The third place team was the home course favourite’s Marsha McCulloch and Carol Conrad from River Oaks who carded a two under par 144. The team from Northumberland Golf Club finished in fourth place. Sally Jolly and Millie Brown carded a combined even par 146. The fifth place team of Hazel McEwan and Barb Leduc from the Greenwood Golf Club finished with one over par net score of 147.
