Squash Canada – OTTAWA, ON, September 22, 2017 – On September 30th, from coast-to-coast-to-coast, Canadians will have the opportunity to get their squash on in celebration of ‘Squash Day in Canada’. As #67 on ParticipACTION’s 150 Play List, ‘Squash Day in Canada’ is the perfect opportunity for Canadians to try a new sport and check off another activity on their personal Play List. With at least one club in all ten Provinces and two of the Territories holding a ‘Squash Day in Canada’ event, Canadians everywhere will be able to join in on the fun and fitness!
 
“We are so thrilled that Canadians, from St. John’s to Victoria and up to Whitehorse and Inuvik, will be able to step on the court and give Squash a try on September 30,” said Dan Wolfenden, Squash Canada’s Executive Director. “Our Provincial and Territorial partners in collaboration with local clubs and facilities have taken this opportunity to encourage more Canadians to get active and try Squash, joining the more than 85,000 who do so on a regular basis. Squash Day in Canada is our opportunity to showcase just how ‘off the wall’ fun, and how healthy of a workout, squash really is.”
 
‘Squash Day in Canada’ events, ranging from Open Houses to See it, Try it! to Bring a Friend, to ‘learn-to’ sessions will take place in a variety of settings where squash courts exist, at clubs, municipal facilities, Canadian Armed Forces bases, universities, hotels and condominiums.
Participating is easy!
 
Canadians are encouraged to simply play squash on ‘Squash Day in Canada’, at a participating club/facility. Clubs across the country will be offering free activities, making the sport more accessible than ever. People of all ages, experience, and abilities can take part. Whether it’s your first time or 100th time, this is your chance to swing a racquet on September 30th in celebration of this healthy, fun and accessible activity suitable for all ages and abilities. Not to be forgotten, after you’ve hit the court be sure to check Squash off your 150 Play List!
