Sport Nova Scotia – Halifax, NSCurler Mary Fay, hoops star Nate Darling, national team gymnast Hugh Smith, and triathlon guru Marie Claude Gregoire are among the winners of the Provincial Sport Organizations’ top awards, released today by Sport Nova Scotia. 

“These are our members’ top picks – so the best of the best in each sport,” said Jamie Ferguson, CEO of Sport Nova Scotia. “All told there are 184 Nova Scotians from 39 different sports who will receive awards.” The awards will be presented at a sold-out ceremony May 28th at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax.

Ferguson adds, “We have worked to develop an amateur sport system in this province that not only focuses on building multisport participation and growing a love of sport, but also produces high performance power houses… essentially everyone on this list.”

These award winners – each sport’s top picks – are also in the running for the overall Ricoh Sport Awards selected by 18 judges on two separate committees through a scoring matrix. The overall winners will be announced at the ceremony on May 28th.
