Sport Law & Strategy Group – February 16th, 2017 – The Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) will host its next webinar on February 22nd at noon EST.

The hour-long webinar, titled Social Media with Colleagues, will discuss the risks of texting and connecting with your colleagues on social media. Kevin Lawrie will explain what’s happening when we communicate by text and social media and how we lack the regular communication cues that exist in face-to-face conversations. If you’ve ever noticed that you are far more personal when you text a work colleague (or a fellow volunteer or Board member) versus when you email that same person, this webinar will help you understand what’s going on and why – and how to avoid saying something that might get you in trouble.

Topic areas will also include the risks and challenges of this type of communication, our roles and the authority dynamic, what it means to communicate “hyperpersonally”, problems with ‘oversharing’, and why our shared “sport” context (rather than “business” context) may put us at even greater risk.

To register for the webinar please visit: http://www.sportlaw.ca/webinar-series/. The cost for the webinar is $40 tax included.
