Nova Scotia Golf Association – The biggest story from the third round of the 2016 COBRA PUMA Junior Championship was the wind. Warm windy weather made for tough scoring conditions. This resulted in big changes on the leaderboard. Shaun Margeson from Ashburn had a seven stroke-lead heading into todays round and after struggling had his lead reduced to 2 strokes.

Ashburns Ewan Kelly Jr. fired the low round of the day after carding a 72. Kelly is currently in second place behind Margeson. Aubrey Farrell from Seaview shot the second lowest round with a 4 over par 74. Being member of Seaview which experiences windy conditions helped the 17 year old from Sydney Forks. Farrell is tied for third place with Matt Chandler of Chester who is the defending Boys Champion.

The junior boys are competing for four spots (3 team and 1 alternate) on the team representing Nova Scotia at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship at the Clovelly Golf Course in St. John’s Newfoundland on August 1-4th.

Defending Champion and home course hopeful, Allison Chandler maintained her lead heading into tomorrows final round. Chandler carded a third round total of 73 and has a 13-stroke lead over Ken Wo’s Heather McLean. Her total of 213 is three over par for the tournament. Meghan McLean is currently in third place with a three-day total of 233.

The girls are competing for four spots (3 team and 1 alternate) to represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship at Penn Hills Golf Club on August 2-5.
