Coaching Association of Canada – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and the provincial and territorial coaching representatives (P/TCRs) are proud to present the third annual National Coaches Week, September 23 – 30, 2017.

National #CoachesWeek celebrates the positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. With events held across the country to celebrate coaching, it provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle. “The Canadian sport sector has the largest number of volunteers, many of whom are coaches. National Coaches Week is an opportunity for every type of athlete, from across Canada, to say Thanks Coach,” said Lorraine Lafrenière, CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada. “The CAC wants to thank and recognize all those who give their time to the development of Canada’s athletes and participants.”

Passionate about the power of sport and physical activity to change lives, the Honourable Kent Hehr, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities, encourages all Canadians to share what their coaches have done for them.

“I look forward to celebrating National Coaches Week, which highlights extraordinary coaches who are dedicated to the development of our athletes. Their involvement has a positive impact on many individuals and contributes greatly to the Canadian sport system,” said the Honourable Kent Hehr, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities. “Congratulations to everyone involved in organizing, planning, and participating in this week that honours the outstanding work of Canadian coaches.”

Canadians can engage in many ways during National Coaches Week. For instance, TeamSnap, the household name in integrated sports management, offers the TeamSnap eCard. Sending this card is an easy way to say #ThanksCoach to the millions of people who make sport in Canada meaningful for all participants. Tweet or share the eCard for a chance to win yourself TeamSnap gear and your coach an ipad!

“We believe coaches deserve recognition for the profound impact they have on the lives of young athletes,” said TeamSnap Chief Growth Officer Ken McDonald. “We know everyone at the Coaching Association of Canada shares these sentiments, which is why we’re excited to build on our already strong partnership.”

You can also say #ThanksCoach by donating your Petro-PointsTM to support coaches across Canada!

Playing a leading role across the country by organizing events in each province and territory, the P/TCRs got in on the action by saying #ThanksCoach in this YouTube vignette.
