Ruth Maxwell maintains the lead heading into the final round of the 2016 Women’s Senior Championship
Competitors braved cold windy weather conditions during the second round of the NSGA Women’s Amateur and Senior Championship. Tomorrow’s final round will take place tomorrow at the Brightwood Golf Club.
Anne Balser from the Links at Brunello maintains her lead heading into the final round of the 2016 Women’s Amateur at the Brightwood Golf and Country Club in Dartmouth. Balser fired a second round 76 to finish with a two-day total of 148 and is three strokes a head of Alison Chandler from Chester. Chandler, a member of the NSGA Junior Development Team fired a 73 today, which was the lowest round of the day. Mireille LeBlanc of Clare is in third place with a two round total of 153.
Ruth Maxwell from Oakfield fired a 5 over par 76 during today’s second round of the 2016 NSGA Women’s Senior Championship. Maxwell has two-day total of 151 and is 7 strokes ahead of the Debi Karrel from Ashburn. Karrel’s two-day total of 158. Joannie McCarville of Ashburn is in third place with a two-day total of 161.
The top three golfers and an alternate from both the Amateur and Senior will be selected to the Nova Scotia Team at their respective National Championships.
The 2016 Canadian Women’s Amateur Nationals will be held at the Ken-Wo Golf Club from July 26th– 29th.
The Canadian Women’s Senior Nationals will be hosted at Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Alberta from August 24th– 26th.
In addition to the National Teams, Nova Scotia will be selecting three (3) amateurs, three (3) mid-masters, three (3) seniors and 1 super senior to represent Nova Scotia at the Atlantic Golf Championships on August 19-21 at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Prince Edward Island.
