Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Council – This is a friendly reminder that the registration deadline is fast approaching for the Player Selection Camp for Team BC for participation in the 2018 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC).  Registration closes at midnight, Friday, March 23rd.

Player Selection Camp:
Aboriginal male and female hockey players are invited to participate in the 2018 Team BC Player Selection Camp where players will be evaluated over a three-day period by the Team BC coaching staff. The Selection Camp will be held April 6 to 8, 2018 in Kamloops, BC.  Team BC will be represented by one male and one female team consisting of maximum of 20 of the top bantam/midget aged players.  Those players selected to Team BC will compete at the 2018 NAHC to be hosted in Membertou, Nova Scotia from May 6 to 12, 2018.

Players must meet the following criteria to be eligible for participation in the NAHC:

  • Resident of British Columbia and of Aboriginal ancestry (First Nations, Inuit, Métis)
  • Male: Bantam or Midget age, as of the 2017/18 competitive season (born 2000 to 2004)
  • Female: Bantam or Midget age, as of the 2017/18 competitive season (born 2000 to 2004)
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with BC Hockey. (Players not registered with BC Hockey for 2017/18 season may register via this camp for an additional fee of $40)

Registration:
The Camp Registration Fee is $120 per player and includes a Team BC Selection Camp jersey.  Pre-registration is mandatory as no ‘walk-ins’ will be accepted.  For more information or to register please visit www.teambcnahc.com.  Registration will close at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 23, 2018.
