Diving – WINNIPEG – Quebec and Alberta were the first victors Monday in diving at the Canada Games.

On men’s three-metre synchro, the Quebec tandem of Peter Thach Mai and Gabriel Corriveau won the gold medal with 367.05 points. Ryan Grover and Bryden Hattie of B.C. were second at 366.27 while Victor Pozvner and Joshua Inglis of Ontario were third at 344.04.

‘’We both felt pretty good,’’ said Corriveau. ‘’The highlight was our third dive which was pretty hard for me and I had to do it synchro and I pretty happy with how it went. We’ve only been together three week and we’ve worked hard to adapt.’’

On women’s three-metre synchro, Ashley McCool and Margo Erlam of Alberta were first at 262.47, Sarah Jodoin Di Maria and Mia Vallée of Quebec second and Aimee Wilson and Elaena Dick of Ontario third.

‘’We worked really well together,’’ said Erlam. ‘’We have similar hurdles and take-offs. Our compulsories were the best part of our performance because we had not done them well at the nationals.’’

Diving competition continues through to Thursday.
