(Thursday, September 22, 2022) …Sport Events Congress 2022 is right around the corner. The final registration deadline is less than one month away and we’ve recently released more information about the schedule of events and speaker line-up for November 2-4 in Edmonton.

If you haven’t made your move to register for Canada’s largest annual gathering of sport tourism professionals yet, it is officially time to get excited.

Sport Tourism Canada has programmed SEC22 to feature activities and learning for everyone from SEC rookies to the folks who helped build the sport tourism industry in Canada from the beginning.

For the first time ever, a limited amount of day passes are now available for Day 3 only (price = $355 + tax). If you’re looking for a small taste of the SEC experience, this is your chance to get in on the action.

Interested in a highlight reel? Let’s break down all the action, day-by-day.

SEC Day 1 Highlights (November 2)

Be ready for the first day of SEC22 and all the firsts that go with it. The Welcome Desk opens. Vendor Alley gets rolling, so you can meet up with SEC22 delegates and enter the prize draws available at the Vendor Alley booths while enjoying some refreshments. It’s also the first theme day of the week, so wear your favourite sneakers for a chance to win a prize.

New to SEC? The SEC For Rookies session, hosted by SEC22 Co-Host Greg Amiel, and the Sport Tourism 101 session are can’t-miss.

Greg Amiel and his SEC22 Co-Host Sylvie Bigras are back to lead us through the Opening Plenary Presentation, followed by a members update and cocktail reception.

Wrap up an exciting first day at Just Add Ice – a fun-filled evening of delicious food, drinks, and music in downtown Edmonton.

 Day 2 Highlights (November 3)

Dress to impress on Day 2 with your favourite team jersey. Half the group will spend most of their day speed dating (advance registration was required – deadline has passed), and the other half huddle up for two  enlightening educational sessions on Sport Tourism Innovations.

Update your professional headshot or take a team photo at our complimentary onsite SEC photo studio hosted by Discover Surrey and gather in plenary for delicious meals and keynote presentations featuring outstanding speakers you won’t want to miss!

Day 3 Highlights (November 4)

Day 3 features an all-star line-up, including keynote speakers Meaghan Mikkelson (Team Canada – hockey, 3x Olympian & Broadcaster) and Victor Cui (President & CEO, Edmonton Elks), plus four breakout sessions and a closing plenary with an eye towards 2023.
