Super-Spike c/o Volleyball Manitoba – Winnipeg – MTS Super-Spike presented by Bud Light, is excited to announce that local alt-rockers The Treble, have been added to the events music line up.  The band will open for the ‘Sam Roberts Band’ on Saturday July 22nd.  MTS Super-Spike, which is taking place July 21st & 22nd at Maple Grove Rugby Park, combines Western Canada’s largest outdoor/beach volleyball tournament with a weekend long concert series, all set in a festival atmosphere.   Currently team registrations are on record pace with over 325 teams already registered and just under a month left to go until the event.

Formed in 2008, The Treble have been slowly carving out their place in the Canadian music scene with engaging songs and a passionate live show. With a dark, casual, and confident alt-rock sound, The Treble mix strong melodies and anthemic harmonies with lyrics about friendship, travel and staving off the real world. Having recently completed and released their first full length album with producer Rob Wells, entitled ‘Modernaires’, the album caught industry’s attention and led to a recording contract with Cadence Music.

Public interested in registering a team for this year’s event can do so by visiting www.superspike.ca. Team registration fees are only $59 per person, with the tournament registration deadline being Friday July 14th. All MTS Super-Spike tournament participants receive free access for the concert series and on-site festivities.

Limited weekend passes for non-tournament participants are also on-sale, and can be purchased for only $35 through www.superspike.ca.

MTS Super-Spike, now in its sixteenth year, also acts as a significant local charitable fundraiser with over $1 million raised to date.  Formerly a fundraiser for the National Women’s Volleyball Team who recently relocated to Richmond, B.C, MTS Super-Spike now splits its proceeds between three charitable organizations including Volleyball Manitoba as a staple annual partner, and two rotating new charities each year selected through an annual application process.  KidSport Manitoba and the True North Youth Foundation have been selected as the two other MTS Super-Spike charitable recipients for 2017.
