Ontario Soccer – Men’s and Women’s divisions see fierce competition in Week 7

Vaughan, ON – Leaders in the League1 Ontario Men’s and Women’s divisions continue to stake their claim as the half-way point in the season approaches. 

Oakville Blue Devils continued their red hot form and took over first place in the west division after a comprehensive 6-1 defeat of Pro Stars FC. 

Canada U17 and Toronto FC III keeper Gianluca Catalano and Windsor TFC keeper Kyle Vizarakis kept clean sheets in the “TFC derby” between the Junior Reds and satellite club Windsor TFC. 

Former Canada youth program players Jarek Whiteman and Joseph Di Chiara scored one apiece to give Vaughan the 2-0 final against fierce rivals Woodbridge Strikers. The loss marked the Strikers’ first of the season. 

In the women’s division, Canada U20 player Lauren Raimondo split the difference for Woodbridge in the derby with Vaughan, but it wasn’t enough to get the three points as Vaughan won 2-1 and maintain second spot in the table.

Canada U20 striker Alex Lamontagne got a valuable road goal to earn a point for Durham United FA after a 1-1 draw with Toronto Azzurri Blizzard at the Azzurri Village. 

Men’s Division Results

North Toronto Nitros’ forward Kyle Laborde scored a brace and moved into fifth place in the scoring table after a 5-1 result over visitors OSU Force.
