KidSport Scores a Huge Donation
KidSport Canada – Real Canadian Superstore Raises
$200,000 in Annual Campaign
October 26, 2016, Winnipeg, Manitoba: In a campaign that proved every little bit counts Real Canadian Superstore customers combined their generosity to present a $208,000 cheque to KidSport™ Canada. Since 2009 the Give a Little Help a Lot campaign has raised over $1.5M for KidSport making a big difference to those who need help getting off the sidelines.
“We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and employees who made donations at the cash registers to support KidSport during our Give a Little Help a Lot campaign,” said Al Jasper, district manager, Real Canadian Superstore. “We’re all touched by the work that KidSport does. Having the opportunity to attend one of their programs and seeing first-hand the impact we’re making on the community is an amazing feeling.”
Over 40 Real Canadian Superstore staff attended the University of Winnipeg RecPlex today to cheer on local kids participating in sport while handing out snacks and refreshments. A cheque for $208,000 was presented on behalf of Loblaw stores from across Western Canada/Ontario.
“We are incredibly grateful to have such strong support from Real Canadian Superstore,” said Bryan Ezako, Manager KidSport Canada. “We believe that all kids should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports and their ongoing support helps us accomplish that goal.”

About:
KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that helps remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing sport by providing assistance for registration fees and sport equipment to children aged 18 and under. Through a confidential application process grants are given so they can play a season of sport. With 178 community chapters across Canada, KidSport provides support to kids from coast to coast to coast. Since its creation in 1993, over 600,000 kids across the country have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming.
The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign is a two-week national program. At checkout, customers were asked to donate two dollars to KidSport Canada. Customers that choose to donate were given a paper icon to sign. The icon was posted in the store for the duration of the campaign to acknowledge the customer’s donation. This program is a great opportunity for customers to give back to the community while contributing an amount they feel is appropriate.
