Gymnastics Canada – GUADALAJARA, ESP (June 5, 2016) –Patricia Bezzoubenko of Toronto, ON and Cindy Huh of Vancouver, BC continued their solid performances this weekend at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Guadalajara, Spain.

Using their learnings from last week’s World Cup in Bulgaria, both girls were able to focus on their individual performances and delivered great results, which included improved results in the ribbon event, an area where both Bezzoubenko and Huh struggled last weekend.

Bezzoubenko competed in the Hoop, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon and finished in 15th place overall.  In the hoop and ribbon event, Bezzoubenko finished 13th overall with a score of 17.500 and 17.250 respectively, an improvement from the World Cup in Bulgaria where she scored below 17.000 in her ribbon routine.  In her ball performance, Bezzoubenko struggled and finished in 23rd place with a score of 16.300, well below her personal best.

Following her ball routine, Bezzoubenko rebounded and delivered one of her strongest club routines scoring 17.650 and finishing out of the finals in 11th position.  “Patricia performed well today despite some of the difficulties she had in ball,” said coach Svetlana Joukova.

Huh used the momentum built in Bulgaria to deliver performances in all four disciplines this weekend.  Huh’s best performance was in the ribbon event scoring 15.000 followed closely by a score of 14.800 in the clubs.  Rounding out her competition was a score of 13.350 and 13.250 in hoop and ball respectively.
