Baseball Manitoba -Winnipeg, Manitoba — The executive board of Baseball Manitoba is pleased to announce Jason Miller as the Association’s next executive director. Miller, 35, has been serving as Baseball Manitoba’s Program Director since May 18, 2010.

As executive director, Miller will oversee all day-to-day aspects of Baseball Manitoba’s operations, programming and competitions. He will take over official duties on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

“We are excited to have someone like Jason take the helm of our Association,” stated Tony Siemens, Baseball Manitoba President. “He brings a vast knowledge of the Baseball Manitoba and Baseball Canada overall landscape and is well connected at all levels of the game. In his previous role as Program Director, Jason did an excellent job in leading the growth in our Sport Development and High-Performance initiatives, and we look forward to the same standard of excellence in his role as Executive Director.”

“I am and honored and very excited to have this opportunity,” Miller said. “So many great people have been involved in building this organization into the sport leader that it is today. I look forward to continuing that growth by working diligently with our dedicated board, staff, committees and volunteers as we continue to elevate our sport.”

Outgoing Executive Director Morgan de Pena announced his retirement earlier in the year, and his last official day will be Friday, April 27. He will stay on until that time to help mentor Jason Miller and the soon-to-be-hired new Program Director. Baseball Manitoba would like to thank Morgan for his 24 years of service in the office, starting in the role of Technical Director from 1994-99, and Executive Director late 1999. Under his direction Baseball Manitoba was awarded the Baseball Canada Province of the Year on five occasions and saw continuous growth in programming and registrations.

Baseball Manitoba will begin their search for a new Program Director immediately.
