Banks and Herrick lead the Senior Men’s 4 Ball
Nova Scotia Golf Association – Paragon member’s Tom Banks and Sandy Herrick are off to a great start at the Men’s Senior Four Ball. The duo have a three stroke lead, after carding a first round, six under, 66. The Four Ball, a best ball style tournament, is being held at Greenwood Golf Club.
Tom Banks is fresh off his win at the Men’s Senior at eden on August 5th. Banks and Herrick carded a first round, six under, 66. Banks and Herrick had four birdies in a row, and had eight on the day. Tom Banks is a two time Senior Four Ball Champ (2011 & 2012).
Bob O’ Leary, Brightwood and teammate Bill Walsh, Penn Hills, carded a 69 today and sit alone in second. O’ Leary and Walsh went fourteen holes without a bogey and finished their rounds with four birdies.
Erwin Banks, Paragon, and Dean Woodman, Avon Valley currently sit T3 after their first round, two under, 70. Erwin and Dean fired a four under, 32 on the front nine. The team was bogey free with four birdies. Erwin Banks is a four time Men’s Four Ball Champion and has won the Senior Men’s Four Ball in 2013. Woodman is a five time Men’s Four Ball Champion and has won an Amateur (1994) and a Mid- Amateur (1999).
Tony Huskilson and Ed Zwicker, Osprey Ridge, are sitting T3 with Erwin and Dean at two under. The duo of Huskilson and Zwicker were bogey free on the front nine and carded three birdies on the day. Huskilson and Zwicker are looking to defend their title, as they won the 2015 Senior Men’s Four Ball at The Links at Penn Hills.
The final round kicks off tomorrow at 8:00am
