Rowing Canada Aviron – VICTORIA, BC – Thursday, June 1, 2017 – Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) has opened the application process for all Provincial Rowing Associations (PRAs) and member clubs for the opportunity to host the RCA coastal fleet for up to two years.

The Coastal Fleet Program was first made available to provincial and local rowing organizations in 2012 and since then, the fleets have benefited many clubs and coastal rowing events in Ontario and Quebec. RCA’s Coastal Fleet Program continues to develop coastal rowing programs and increase rowing participation throughout Canada.

The coastal fleet has spent the last two years at the Hanlan Boat Club. They have provided support to ROWONTARIO coastal events and the Ontario Adventure Rowing Society events.

This year, the coastal fleet has continued to develop with the addition of two more coastal boats. One fleet includes two Eurodiffusion coastal doubles and the other fleet consists of one Eurodiffusion coastal double and one Eurodiffusion 1x Rowboard.

To apply for the Coastal Fleet Program, member organizations must complete an application by Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

The chosen PRA or club will be announced by Friday, June 30, 2017. Both PRAs and clubs are eligible to apply. Applications will be evaluated on planned programming with the fleet, with consideration also given to the potential of an increase in rowing participation in that local or regional area.
