Alberta Soccer Association – Spring is coming and youth soccer teams across the province will look to wrap up their indoor seasons with the Alberta Soccer Indoor Provincial Championships this weekend. After five months of league and tournament play, the Championships, sponsored by Servus Credit Union and Booster Juice will determine the best teams in the province for each respective gender, age group and level of play.

In total, 25 Provincial titles will be handed out on March 13th to boys and girls teams ranging in age from Under 12 to Under 18 and in four different tiers (Tier I through Tier IV). Five different communities are gearing up to help host these events in some of Alberta’s major indoor soccer facilities. Edmonton’s West and South Soccer Centres, Calgary Soccer Centre, Collicutt Centre in Red Deer, Crescent Point Regional Field House in Okotoks and Servus Sports Centre Lethbridge will all play host to games this weekend.

“5,000 participants that represent 247 different teams from across Alberta have qualified for the provincial championships this weekend and our host cities have been working hard to prepare for the influx of visitors. We hope this weekend provides healthy competition and a positive finish to the indoor season for all of our youth participants,” said Richard Adams, Executive Director of the Alberta Soccer Association.

Media, fans, and families of the participants are welcome to attend all games in each host city. For schedules, results, venue locations and other competition-specific information, visit the Alberta Soccer Provincials website at www.albertasoccer.com/provincials.
