(Tuesday, March 19, 2024) OTTAWA, ON – More than 1600 ringette players will be taking over the Ottawa rinks for the 2024 LUG National Capital Region Ringette League (NCRRL) Championships Weekend. The season-ending tournament runs March 22-24, and the 121 teams will be competing for their division championship titles.

The ringette players range in age from 5 to 18 and play throughout the season in the 10 ringette leagues in the National Capital Region. Fans can follow their favorite teams at the Brewer Arena, Fred Barrett Arena, Jim Durrell Arena, Richcraft Sensplex, Walter Baker Arena and Carleton University.

Tournament Chair, Phyllis Bergmans, invites fans of the sport, and those who may never have seen it, to come out and enjoy the games. “Ringette is often called the fastest game on ice, because of the skating speed players bring to the game. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the joyous atmosphere and the talented teams who will be playing here this weekend.”

The NCRRL is made up of 10 ringette associations: Arnprior Devils, City of Ottawa Ice, Clarence Rockland Falcons, Gatineau Vortex, Gloucester Devils, Kingston, Metcalfe Hornets, Nepean Ravens, Upper Ottawa Valley, and West Ottawa Wild.

The tournament is sanctioned by Ringette Ontario.
