Swimming Canada – AUSTIN, Texas – Two-time Olympian Audrey Lacroix of Pont-Rouge, Que., won the silver medal on Sunday in the women’s 200-m butterfly to conclude the second stop on the Pro Swim Series circuit.

 

Cammile Adams of the U.S. won the race in two minutes and 08.21 seconds with Lacroix second in 2:09.90 and Cassidy Bayer of U.S. third in 2:10.14.

 

“I was happy with that swim tonight,” tweeted Lacroix. “The time is OK at this time in my training.”

 

Five other Canadians reached finals.

 

Richard Funk of Edmonton was involved in a three-way tie for fifth place in the men’s 100-m breaststroke clocking 1:01.73 and Sydney Pickrem, a Canadian based in Florida, was also fifth in the women’s 200-m individual medley.

 

Zack Chetrat of Oakville, Ont., was sixth in the men’s 200-m butterfly, Dominique Bouchard of North Bay, Ont., seventh in the women’s 100-m backstroke while Rachel Nicol of Lethbridge, Alta., was eighth in the 100-m breaststroke.

 

Canadian swimmers won two medals this weekend. On Friday, Noemie Thomas of Richmond, B.C., took bronze in the women’s 100-m butterfly.
