Racquetball Canada – Brossard, QC, May 26, 2017 – Canada’s top ranked athletes have all advanced to the semi-finals in the open events at the Racquetball Canada Canadian Championships being held in Brossard, QC. The tournament runs from May 22 to 27. 

There were no upsets on Thursday however there were some close matches that could have gone either way. 

In Men’s Open Singles, Hamilton’s Mike Green will face fifth seed James Landeryou of Saskatoon in the semi-final. Samuel Murray of Baie-Comeau is seeded second and will play third seed Tim Landeryou of Calgary. 

In Women’s Open Singles, Frédérique Lambert of Montréal will meet Baie-Comeau’s Michèle Morissette in the semi-finals. Lambert is the top seed and Morissette is seeded fifth. Second seed Jennifer Saunders of Winnipeg faces third seed Christine Richardson, also of Winnipeg. 

Semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, with the finals taking place on Saturday. 

The Canadian Championship event includes several age and skill events.  The tournament provides an excellent high performance and competition for life opportunity for Canadian athletes.  There are 110 athletes from 10 provinces participating in the 2017 Championship event.
