Bowls Canada Boulingrin – Top youth lawn bowlers from across Canada will be descending on the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club in Halifax, Nova Scotia starting July 31 for the 2017 Canadian Junior and Under 25 Championships.  Ranging from 12 to 24 years of age, these talented athletes will be competing for national titles and a spot on the National Youth Development Squad.  The stakes are even higher for the Under 25 competitors as a trip to Australia to represent Canada at the 2018 World Youth Championships is also on the line.

Bowls Canada Boulingrin is pleased to welcome back long-time supporter MVP Sports to this event.  One of Canada’s top bowls suppliers, MVP Sports has been championing the development of Canadian youth bowlers for many years.

With back to back victories in 2015 and 2016, local native Braedon Campbell (Bridgetown, NS) will be looking to claim his third Junior title before bringing his skills to the Under 25 competition field. Joining him in the race for the Under 25 title is youth development squad team member and reigning Canadian champion Lucas Caldwell (Peterborough, ON).

Reigning World Youth Champion Pricilla Westlake (Delta, BC) will be looking to make history by winning her fifth consecutive U25 Canadian title.  Carah Webster (Victoria, BC), fellow BC teammate and the 2016 Junior Champion, will be doing her best to stop Westlake’s bid as she makes her Under 25 debut in Halifax.

The Junior (Under18) Championships will run from July 31 – August 3 and the Under 25 Championships will run from August 5-7.  The competitors of both championships will have the opportunity to join forces on August 4th in the Forster-Lang Pairs event.  This open event is a favourite of all the competitors as junior bowlers are paired with Under25 bowlers to compete for the coveted Forster-Lang trophy.
