Triathlon Canada – Quebec-based sport execs to complete 11 triathlons in 11 days, to kick off fundraising campaign to reach $155,000 goal

Montreal—Two triathlon sport executives will take on the ultimate triathlon challenge this week: to complete 11 triathlons in 11 days through Quebec.

With the goal of raising money for Triathlon Quebec Tri 4 School program and promoting Youth Triathlon while growing the sport amongst all age groups in the

province of Quebec, Christian Triquet, member of Triathlon Canada’s Board of Directors, along with Benoit Hugo St-Pierre, president of Triathlon Quebec, will begin this

test of endurance, June 16 in Gaspe, Que. Coined, the Triathlon Challenge for Life, the 11 day affair will wrap up on June 26 with an Ironman 70.3 in Mont-Tremblant.

“Benoit had this crazy idea last year, he completed the first edition, and asked me to join him this time around,” said Triquet, who joined Triathlon Canada’s Board this

year. “Triathlons are about building your mental and physical fitness, and this definitely does that. But more importantly, this is an opportunity for Benoit and I to

continue to grow the awareness level of our sport, while encouraging people of all ages to live a healthier more active lifestyle and raise money primarily for the

promotion of triathlon among the youth. In our opinion many benefits like perseverance, discipline, determination and accomplishment are key reinforcements that will

help build the character of kids therefore, elevating their confidence level and better prepare them for the future. We are now challenging other sport leaders from all

provinces to embrace this initiative and engage themselves into a similar fitness challenge and trigger youth triathlon participation in their respective regions.”
