Synchro Canada – Riverside, July 14, 2016 — Canada’s Olympic-bound duet of Jacqueline Simoneau (St-Laurent, QC) and Karine Thomas (Gatineau, QC) will take part in the 2016 Synchro America Open scheduled for July 14-16, 2016, in Riverside, California.

Hosted by USA Synchro and held in an exterior facility at Riverside City College, the 3-day event will feature participation from 4 other duets who will also be in Rio, including Ona Carbonell and Gemma Mengual of Spain as well as Anita Alvarez and Mariya Koroleva of the USA.  Canadian synchronized swimming will be well represented at the competition as delegations from Regional Training Centre – Ontario and Quebec Provincial Team are also scheduled to compete in junior et senior events.

First up for Simoneau and Thomas will be the Duet Technical event on Thursday, followed by a preliminary round of Duet Free on Friday and finals on Saturday.

“This competition is a great opportunity for us to kick off our last month of preparation as we head to the Games,” stated Head Coach Meng Chen.
