Rowing Canada Aviron – RCA is pleased to announce Greg Szybka as the NextGen Brock Niagara HUB Coach.

A former Brock athlete, Greg currently holds the position of Head of Rowing at St. Georges School in Vancouver, BC. During his time with St. Georges, his athletes have competed at the CSSRA regatta, National Championships and other National and International Events.

Greg began his coaching career in the Niagara region, working with Holy Cross High School, St. Catharines Rowing Club and Brock University. He is currently pursuing his Advanced Coaching Diploma with the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific and is Performance Coach Certified.

At the representative level, Greg was a Team BC Coach at the 2017 Canada Summer Games and has coached for Canada at the World Junior Championships.
Greg will complete his obligations with St. George’s School and begin with the Brock Niagara HUB on July 1st.
 
On an interim basis, Mike Purcer will assist with coaching Brock Niagara HUB athletes and their coaches on the water and with rigging analysis to help prepare athletes for this summer’s Speed Orders – National Selection Regatta.
 
Peter Somerwil will support the Hub with camp logistics, transportation and support to preparatory camps and Speed Orders. Swede Burak will assist HUB Para Rowers. Further NextGen programming will initiate upon Greg’s arrival.
