Recreation Foundation of British Columbia – To not-for-profit groups active in recreation, sport, parks, culture, the environment and education

Nanaimo, BC – The Recreation Foundation of British Columbia is pleased to announce its list of grant recipients for 2017. $107,500 was awarded to 21 deserving groups across the province.

“It is on occasions like this that I am grateful for our sponsors, field professionals and our hard-working volunteers including the Board”, says Wendy McCormick, Chair of the Recreation Foundation of BC. “Their generosity and dedication to annual fundraising events like the RecreOpen Golf Tournament and Harrison Administrators Workshop are integral to supporting our province’s not-for-profit groups.”

One of this year’s recipients is the Zajac Ranch for Children’s Summer Medical Camp. “Zajac Ranch is so grateful for the support of the Recreation Foundation to help children with medical conditions and disabilities have a magical summer camp experience,” says Carmen Zajac, Ranch President. “Your donation is instrumental in making recreation accessible to all British Columbians, including those with special needs.”

The Foundation’s Grant Program was established in 2011. Grants are awarded every two years and over $500,000 has been awarded since the grant’s inception.  For the full list of this year’s 21 grant recipients, please refer to the Recreation Foundation of BC website at http://recreationfoundationbc.ca/grants/.
