Canada Games Council – (January 14, 2016) Ottawa, ON –The Canada Games have announced OPIN Software Inc. as their newest National Partner.

With this announcement, OPIN – a Canadian software company specialized in planning, implementing, and supporting Drupal-based websites for large and mid-market enterprises and governments – will become an official Canada Games National Partner until the end of the 2019 calendar year and a sponsor of the 2017 and 2019 Canada Games.

“We are thrilled to announce OPIN as our newest National Partner,” says Tom Quinn, Chairman of the Canada Games Council. “They have developed a dynamic website that features great content for the entire Canada Games network. OPIN’s modern approach to software development ensured the website’s look, feel and functionality would be state of the art and user-friendly.”

OPIN first helped develop the 2015 Canada Winter Games website and was subsequently brought on to develop a comprehensive website that would house pertinent information about the Canada Games Council and upcoming Canada Games. The new website can be viewed at www.canadagames.ca.
“We are extremely proud to continue our support of the Canada Games in the design, development, and hosting of its new digital properties,” said Chris Smith, Founder of OPIN. “The new mobile websites will help broaden the opportunity for fans across Canada to stay connected and up-to-date with the Games.”

OPIN will become a Friends of the Games (Gold) sponsor of the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg and 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.
Both Host Societies and the Council worked extensively with OPIN to create a website that would make it easy and seamless for fans to access information.

The announcement comes at an important time when the Canada Games are celebrating individual Games partners, but are also continuing to leverage long-term sponsorships and multiple Games partnerships. With this announcement, the roster of National Partners increases to 14.

Held once every two years, alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games represent the highest level of national competition for up and coming Canadian athletes. The Games have been hosted in every province at least once since their inception in Quebec City during Canada’s Centennial in 1967. The Games are proud of their contribution to Canada’s sport development system in addition to their lasting legacy of sport facilities, community pride and national unity.

The organization of the Canada Games is made possible thanks to the contribution and support of the Government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, host municipalities and the Canada Games Council.
