Curling Canada – History will be made in the first week of January, when Canada’s first mixed doubles curling Olympic team will be decided at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Man.

The first Canad Inns Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials will take place Jan. 2-7, deciding Canada’s entry fo the debut of mixed doubles curling at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

A total of 18 teams, featuring some of the best-known players in Canada, will battle for the right to wear the Maple Leaf in South Korea.

For media requiring credentials, please apply on-line at www.curling.ca/championships/media-accreditation-request-form/, by no later than Dec. 27, 2017. A week or so before the event, you will be sent a confirmation letter outlining the on-site accreditation procedures.

Those requesting credentials must also email a high-resolution mugshot of themselves to media@curling.ca to make the on-site accreditation process easier.

Please note: On-ice photographers will be required to wear black clothing and shoes and restrict themselves to designated shooting areas during the games. There will be no exceptions to this guideline.

A limited number of rooms at Canad Inns Destination Centre Portage la Prairie is being held for media looking for accommodation during the 2018 Canad Inns Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials. Those needing accommodation need to book their rooms quickly as space is very limited. Contact Trent Ward at tward@canadinns.com to arrange for accommodation.

CBC Sports will provide streaming round-robin coverage of the 2018 Canad Inns Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials, and will broadcast the weekend playoffs on television.
