Fencing Canada – A number of Canadians have made the trip to Dallas, Texas for the US Fencing Association’s National Championships & July Challenge which runs from June 29th to July 8th with numerous age class and divisions in all weapons.

The top result so far for Canada is Kelleigh Ryan’s (Ottawa, ON) gold medal win over USA’s Margaret Lu by a close score of 15-14 in Women’s Division 1 Foil.   Canada’s other medal came from Shirley Wang (Canadian in US) who won Bronze in Women’s Cadet Epee.

A number of Canadians have had top 16 results in events that have well over 100 fencers. The following is a summary of Canada’s top 16 results in the tournament so far, with several days of competition remaining:

Fares Arfa (Laval, QC; MEC) – Div. 1 Men’s Sabre – 9th

Shirley Guo (Toronto, ON; TFC) – Cadet Women’s Epee – 13th
