iHeartRadio MMVA Award winners Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine to perform at the 41st Canadian Sport Awards in Ottawa
AthletesCAN – OTTAWA (September 4, 2018) – On September 20, 2018, Canada’s top athletes and biggest stars will join co-hosts Perdita Felicien and Alexandre Despatie for the 41st Canadian Sport Awards in Ottawa.
Fresh off the heels of their iHeartRadio MMVA win for Best New Canadian Artist and explosive Red Carpet performance, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine will perform their Platinum-selling debut hit “Ain’t Easy”, which has garnered 16 million streams worldwide.
Over the past few months EWxJF have been hard at work touring and recording new music since being named the season one/week two winners of CTV’s new hit series The Launch.
Comprised of instrumentalist/composer Elijah Woods, “churning out endlessly inventive hooks” (Ottawa Citizen), and lyricist/vocalist Jamie Fine, whose “vocal delivery bores the influence of artists from Alanis to Adele” (Ottawa Citizen), EWxJF purposefully breach the boundaries of rhythmic pop music by embracing and balancing their penchant for stylized pop and hip hop culture.
“Music has always played an important role in sport, from motivation, to reflection, to celebration”, says AthletesCAN President & 10-time national champion, Dasha Peregoudova. “A great track can change the experience of an athlete, a team and a crowd in seconds, and we instantly associate it with something magical and powerful. We’re so excited to bring Canada’s newest music stars Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine to help celebrate this important night in Canadian sport.”
The star-studded evening will highlight the best performances from the year in sports and honour the contributions of leaders in the sport and corporate community. The awards will take place from 6 p.m. ET – 10 p.m. ET at the Brookstreet Hotel in Ottawa.
