Gymnastics Canada – PARIS, FRA (September 16, 2017) – Canadian men’s artistic gymnastics senior national team members Ryan Oehrlein (Georgetown, ON), Cory Paterson (Mississauga, ON), and Damien Cachia (Calgary, AB) competed against some of the world’s finest this weekend at the 2017 World Cup in Paris, France.

Oehrlein competed on rings and floor finishing 21st and 28th respectively. He scored 13.400 points on rings and 12.750 on floor, an event in which he won a silver medal earlier this year at Elite Canada in Halifax, NS.

Paterson finished 29th on parallel bars scoring 12.600 points, 32nd on high bar with a score of 11.600, and 34th on pommel horse scoring 11.750 points.

Senior team veteran Cachia scored 12.750 points on vault to finish 24th and 10.600 points on rings to finish in 32nd position.

“This event was an awesome experience and great opportunity to compete against some of the best in the world,” said Cachia. “To see what the other gymnasts are doing and how they are doing it gives me an opportunity to adapt and change my training back home. The biggest thing for me right now is to get 100% healthy.”
