Volleyball Canada – One of the largest national-level single-sport events is set to hit Edmonton in 2018 when the city plays host to the Volleyball Canada Championships.
 
Approximately 10,000 athletes and coaches and an estimated 15,000 spectators from across the country are expected to attend. The event will feature an impressive estimated 800 teams in various age categroies, coinciding with international competitions. The action will take place May 12 to 24, 2018 at the Expo Centre.
 
Edmonton is becoming a globally renowned host city for major athletic competitions, and ranked as one of the top five host cities in all of the Americas. “We’re confident that Edmonton will do an amazing job hosting our largest event, and provide our participants with an ideal competitive environment,” said Volleyball Canada Executive Director, Mark Eckert. “The volleyball fans here are some of the best in the country and we can’t wait for them to see our athletes in action.”

Edmonton’s winning bid was put forth by Edmonton Events, a partnership between the City of Edmonton and Edmonton Tourism.
