Canadian three-time Olympian Crispin Duenas beat Aida Roman, Mexico’s silver medallist at the London 2012 Games, in the final of the Lockdown Knockout, 7-1. On his way to the final, Duenas went up against Bernardo Oliveira of Brazil and the reigning European Champion, Steve Wijler from the Netherlands.
“I’m super happy. I mean it’s been super happy since I’ve done competition and had this kind of pressure,” he said. “I was able to pull it back in the fourth set and shoot a comfortable 30. I’m happy. Congratulations to Aida for really great shooting in this final.”

Duenas shot 12 perfect 10s in the final. It is the second time he has not missed the 10 in matchplay in this tournament, after the quarterfinal against Bernardo Oliveira. He only put one arrow in the nine in the semifinals.

Crispin receives 1000 CHF for first prize, Aida 500 CHF for second. The Lockdown Knockout was a remote international invitational tournament, featuring eight of the world’s best archers.
