Racquetball Canada – Winnipeg, July 16, 2016 – Competition is underway at the 2016 International Racquetball Federation World Championships being held in Cali, Colombia from July 16 to 23.

The majority of the team representing Canada have a wealth of international experience and all have represented Canada previously at at the international level. Mike Green, Jennifer Saunders and Frédérique Lambert have all been on the podium at previous World Championships in singles or doubles events.  

The coaches for Team Canada will be Michel Gagnon and Corey Osborne.  This will be Gagnon’s twenty eighth international coaching assignment and Osborne’s first at the elite level.  

The World Championship team was selected based on results from two National Team Selection Events, the 2016 Racquetball Canada Canadian Championships and the International Racquetball Tour and Ladies Pro Racquetball Tour (LPRT) rankings. 

The World Championships take place every two years.  Canada has competed in sixteen World Championship events since 1994 and has a history of success, winning 49 medals in singles and doubles events including eight gold, twenty four silver and seventeen bronze.
