Canadian Lacrosse Association – OTTAWA, ON – The Canadian Lacrosse Association is proud to announce that NormaTec Recovery Systems has been named an official supplier of its men’s and women’s national teams.

NormaTec, a leader in rapid recovery, offers dynamic air compression devices designed to help elite athletes recover faster between training sessions and after high level competitions. Designed by medical experts, their systems provide a high tech, low stress solution that helps rejuvenate muscle tissue and reduce muscle tightness and soreness.

“Our coaches and medical staff saw first-hand how beneficial these recovery units were for our senior women’s team athletes this past summer at the World Cup and World Games,” said Doug Luey, Director of High Performance and International Relations, Canadian Lacrosse Association. “This new partnership with NormaTec will ensure that all of our national team athletes will have access to these cutting edge systems moving forward.”

NormaTec Recovery Systems use a patented massage pattern (NormaTec Pulse Technology) to temporarily enhance circulation to the treated areas, which helps relieve muscle aches and pains, increase range of motion, and flush out metabolites.

The NormaTec PULSE Series is used by the majority of NFL, NBA and NHL teams, as well as by the world’s elite runners, cyclists and triathletes. The best box and field lacrosse players in Canada will now be a part of that exclusive group.

“NormaTec is excited to partner with the Canadian Lacrosse Association,” said Gilad Jacobs, NormaTec CEO. “Both the men’s and women’s national teams have had tremendous success representing Canada internationally in recent years, and we are honored to have our technology help them continue to reach the top of the podium.”

International lacrosse competitions can be grueling, as evident in 2017 when the Canadian senior women’s team was on the road for 24 consecutive days while competing at the 2017 FIL Rathbones Women’s World Cup in Guildford, England and 2017 IWGA World Games in Wroclaw, Poland. The team utilized NormaTec PULSE PRO systems to help them recover and stay fresh throughout their journey, one that culminated with two silver medals.

“NormaTec Recovery Systems were an essential part of our post-game therapy routine throughout the team’s intense 2017 campaign,” said senior women’s team athletic therapist Elena Hobbs. “Thanks to these units, our athletes were available to compete in back-to-back events, having achieved optimal recovery.“

The portability of the NormaTec units will allow them to travel with the various national teams to tryouts, practices and tournaments across the globe. The next group to benefit from the NormaTec systems will be the senior men’s field lacrosse team, who will travel to Netanya, Israel, for the 2018 FIL Men’s Lacrosse World Championship in July.

“The ability to fully customize the recovery session for each athlete based on their needs makes them an ideal system for a physical sport like lacrosse,” added Hobbs, “and I’m confident that all of the athletes that are part of our national team program will benefit a great deal from being able to use them.”

As part of the partnership, NormaTec will be offering exclusive discounts on their systems to CLA members and national team athletes. Additional details on these offers will be released in the coming months.
