Coaching Association of Canada – OTTAWA, ON (September 13, 2016) – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and the provincial and territorial coaching representatives (P/TCRs) are proud to present the second annual National Coaches Week, September 17 – 25, 2016.

This year, National Coaches Week looks to build on the success of last year’s inaugural campaign, celebrating the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. The week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

“On the heels of a successful Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games for Team Canada, led by an inspirational group of coaches, National Coaches Week is an opportunity for athletes across Canada to say thank you to the coaches who help them strive to be their best,” said Lorraine Lafrenière, CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada. “From grassroots to high performance, the value of the role of the coach cannot be understated.”

National Coaches Week wouldn’t be possible without the support of its national partners, led for the second year by TeamSnap, an organization that stepped in to support this grassroots campaign from day one.

“Like the CAC, TeamSnap is committed to supporting and growing the number of community coach volunteers,” said Ken McDonald, TeamSnap’s Chief Growth Officer. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with the CAC and look forward to continuing to work with Canada’s coaches.”

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Boulder, Colo., TeamSnap has taken the organization of youth, recreational and competitive sports into the 21st century. Eleven million coaches, administrators, players and parents use TeamSnap’s web and smartphone apps to sign up, schedule, communicate and coordinate everything for the team, the club and the season. TeamSnap makes organizing sports as simple as click, tap and go. The P/TCRs and the CAC invite Canadians from coast to coast to coast to join them in celebrating National Coaches Week, from September 17 – 25, 2016.
