Volleyball Canada – June 15, 2016: Canada begins its FIVB Men’s Volleyball World League matches this weekend in Czech Republic. Coming off the team’s successful Olympic qualification bid less than two weeks ago, Canada will face China – a team it defeated for a spot in Rio – this Friday. This will be followed by Egypt on Saturday and host Czech Republic on Sunday.

Next weekend (June 24 to 26) Canada will be in Saskatoon, Sask., at the SaskTel Centre to again face China, along with Korea and Egypt (please note that the Canadian roster for Saskatoon will be released next week).

As in previous Olympic years, 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League is a shortened version of the competition to accommodate teams taking part in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Intercontinental Round sees three different venues hosting matches over each of the three weeks of play.
