Racquetball Canada – Winnipeg, July 18, 2016 – With the completion of round robin play, Team Canada is ready to move onto the elimination round at the 2016 World Racquetball Championships being held in Cali, Colombia from July 16 to 23.

In Women’s Doubles, the team of Frédérique Lambert of Montreal and Jennifer Saunders of Winnipeg finished first in their pool and will go into the elimination round seeded 3rd.The team has a bye in the round of 16 and will advance directly to the quarterfinals.

In Men’s Doubles, Mike Green of Hamilton and Tim Landeryou of Calgary finished second in their pool after a tough loss to the team from Colombia in round robin play. As a result they are seeded 5th and play Tuesday in the round of 16.  

In Men’s Singles, Samuel Murray of Baie-Comeau won his pool and goes into the elimination round seeded 6th.  Pedro Castro of Brossard finished in third place in his pool and is seeded 26th in the elimination round.  

In Women’s Singles, both Michèle Morissette of Baie-Comeau and Christine Richardson of Regina finished in second place in their respective pools. Richardson goes into the elimination round seeded 9th and Morissette is seeded 11th.
