Nova Scotia Golf Association – Hammonds Plains native Bradford Curren finished T3 on May 15 at a Regional Qualifier for the 2017 US Open Championship.

The US Open Qualifier took place on May 15, 2017 at the Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie, South Carolina. Curren fired 33-36 – 69 during the 18 hole local qualifier. A total of 5 players have advanced to the sectional qualifier that will take place on June 5 at The Lakewood Country Club in Dallas, TX.  A total of 12 Sectional Qualifiers (10 in the US and 2 overseas) will be conducted and winners of each Sectional will advance to participate in the 117th US Open Championship at Erin HIlls in Wisconsinon on June 15-18. 

Curren has had a good start to the 2017 season and has been competing in regional mini tour events in the southern United States. In the past week he has posted two top ten finishes in addition to qualifying for the US Open Sectional.

On May 8 , 2017 he finished third at the Preserve Golf Club in Greenville, SC which is a stop on the Carolina Mountain Pro Tour. On May 10 Curren finished T6 at the Governors Town Golf Club in Acworth, GA which is part of the Open Golf Atlanta Tour.
