Diving Canada – BOLZANO, Italy- Éloise Bélanger of Montreal reached a new career high as she won the silver medal on Friday on women’s three-metre to conclude the fifth stop on the FINA Grand Prix diving circuit.
 
Yuka Mabuchi of Japan won the gold medal with 282.30 points, Bélanger followed at 273.05 and Tammy Galera of Brazil was third at 263.80. Mia Vallée of Beaconsfield, Que., was also in the final and took sixth at 244.30.
 
It was Bélanger’s first career medal on the circuit.
 
‘’It’s really satisfying to see all the accumulation of my hard work to get to this point,’’ said Bélanger, 23, in her third career appearance at the Bolzano Grand Prix stop. It is certainly one of my career highlights.’’
 
Bélanger was particularly proud of her last dive in the final, a forward two and half with one twist.
 
‘’It’s a dive I’ve had trouble landing in successfully in competition,’’ she said. ‘’Today I probably did my best one ever.’’
