Canadian Luge Association – CALGARY—Canada’s luge athletes have made an international statement they are one of the top teams on the planet. Passionate supporters of the luge world recognize it and are responding.

 

Two Austrian companies, Garagen City and MassivHaus, have inked one-year deals for the Canadian Luge Team.

 

“It is no secret our sport is part of the European culture and we are thrilled to welcome two Austrian-based companies to be a part of our team,” said Tim Farstad, executive director, Luge Canada, who added the return on the investment will be significant for the Austrian-based corporations the 2017 World Championships scheduled for Igls, Austria.

 

 “Our past success proves that we will deliver significant return on these investments along our journey to the podium.

 

A leading storage company, Garagen City will provide help boost the Canadian squad’s performance with a $10,000 injection into the program.

 

MassivHaus, which is a prefabricated house company, will provide $10,000 of their own to support Luge Canada’s quest for the podium.

 

The announcement builds on Luge Canada’s first international partnership established with Exito last year. The Austrian patio furniture company, whose logo is on the helmets of all Canadian Team athletes, signed a four-year deal through 2020.

 

The Canadian Luge Association is a not-for-profit organization responsible for governing the sport of luge across the country. With the financial backing of from the Government of Canada, Canadian Olympic Committee and Own the Podium, the Canadian Luge Association safely recruits and develops the nation’s current and future high-performance luge athletes with the goal of regularly climbing onto the international podium.
