U SPORTS – TORONTO (U SPORTS) – Sarah Bujold from the StFX X-Women and Matt Hall of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks are the ArcelorMittal Dofasco U SPORTS female and male athletes of the week for the period ending February 19, 2017.

Bujold, a third-year year human kinetics student from Riverview, N.B., recorded seven points in StFX’s two-game sweep of Dalhousie in the AUS quarterfinals. The X-Women forward scored two goals and added two assists in last Thursday’s 6-2 win over the Tigers. On Saturday, Bujold tallied another pair of goals while setting up a third as StFX took the series with a 7-1 victory.

The seven-point performance comes a week after Bujold won the U SPORTS women’s hockey scoring race this season, with 43 points in 24 regular season games. 
Hockey players Marie-Pier Chabot of the Montreal Carabins and Kaitlin Willoughby from the Saskatchewan Huskies, along with Laurentian Voyageurs curler Sara Guy were also nominated for the women’s award.

Hall, a second-year fin. math major from Kitchener, Ont., guided Laurier to a 10-0 record to earn their third straight OUA Men’s Curling Championship. The Golden Hawks skip drew to the button twice on the road to the title, clinching a 6-5 quarterfinal win against Carleton and a 5-3 victory over Queen’s in the championship match. With the win, Hall and the Golden Hawks advance to the U SPORTS/Curling Canada Curling Championships at the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ont., March 19-22.

Hockey players Bryson Cianfrone of the StFX X-Men and Connor Rankin from the Mount Royal Cougars, as well as Laval Rouge et Or basketball player Joël Muamba were the other male nominees.
