Accreditation opens for 222nd World Athletics virtual Council Meeting – Monaco, 29-30 July 2020

The 222nd World Athletics Council Meeting will take place in 25 countries via teleconference on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 July 2020 and will be chaired by World Athletics President Sebastian Coe from Monaco HQ.

A press conference is scheduled at 16:00 CET (to be confirmed) on the second day of the Council Meeting. It will be held as a teleconference via Zoom with a maximum number of 300 participants.

The media briefing is open to all media representatives. Those wishing to join the call must apply to media.pr@worldathletics.org by July 24  to accommodate numbers.

Please note: there is strictly no live coverage from the Council Meeting and the meeting itself will not be transmitted in any form.

The media briefing will be streamed live on the World Athletics YouTube channel. More details will follow next week.

A media release summarising the discussions and decisions of the Council Meeting will be issued and published on the World Athletics website that evening.

Media accreditation process
A confirmation with the necessary link from World Athletics will be required to access the media teleconference. There are 300 available Zoom links and they will be distributed dependent upon pre-registration on a first-come-first-served basis and the provision of the

following information when applying:

  1. Applicant’s name
  2. Function or title
  3. Nationality
  4. Email address (for the link to join the call)
  5. Mobile telephone number (for each person registering)
  6. Name of media organisation being represented
  7. Sports editor’s name and email address
  8. Either (a) national press card number or (b) AIPS press card number or (c) PDF of a signed letter from their editor/producer

Deadline for applications: midnight CET, Friday 24 July 2020.
All requests for media accreditation are to be sent by email only to: media.pr@worldathletics.org

All successful applications will receive a confirmation email.
