Softball Canada – (Ottawa, ON) The Canadian Junior Men’s National Team will hold a Selection Camp this weekend (June 2-5) in Kitchener, ON with twenty-five (25) players from the Junior Men’s National Team Athlete Pool competing for a spot on the 2016 roster.
 
The Selection Camp will include physical and positional testing at Conestoga College in Kitchener, and a pair of intersquad doubleheaders on Friday (5:00pm and 7:00pm) and Saturday (2:00pm and 4:00pm) in Innerkip, ON. Intersquad games are open to the public at no charge.
 
Following the Selection Camp, the coaching staff will select a group of seventeen (17) athletes to compete for Team Canada in the upcoming season. The team will regroup in Kitchener on July 13 and will compete in the Cephas Roth Memorial Tournament in Tavistock, ON from July 14-17 before heading to Midland, Michigan to play in the WBSC Junior Men’s World Softball Championship from July 24-30.
 
Team Canada finished seventh at the previous Junior Men’s World Championship held in Whitehorse in 2014. Argentina won the Gold medal, with New Zealand taking Silver and Japan earning Bronze.
