OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Intern. The Accounting Intern will play a pivotal role in our Finance and Golf Services departments. The successful candidate will possess basic accounting and accounts payable knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. They will primarily be responsible for managing the payment processing of Incident Protection reimbursements for Golf Canada members, ensuring timely and accurate payments in accordance with program’s terms and conditions. Additionally, the intern will provide administrative support to both the Finance and Golf Service departments to assist in executing strategic priorities.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Collaborate with the Manager, Incident Protection, and Accounting Coordinator, to process approved member reimbursements under the Incident Protection program via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) in a timely manner.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of approved reimbursements versus outstanding payments.
  • Assist the Manager, Incident Protection with bookkeeping, reporting, and transaction processing for approved reimbursements.
  • Make recommendations on program improvement and operational execution.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Prepare for external audit preparation specifically for Incident Protection reimbursements and accruals.
  • Provide analysis and support for the Finance and Golf Services departments, as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as Excel and Sage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Bilingual English/French is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of golf is considered an asset.
