Bowls Canada Boulingrin –  September 14th, 2016   The city of St. Catharines, Ontario will be welcoming athletes from across the country for the 2016 Mixed Pairs Championship.  The tournament will take place at the Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club from September 15th   until the end of the medal rounds on September 20th.  The Mixed Pairs Championship is one of Bowls Canada’s most popular championships, which enables men and women to compete together for a National title.  

Joe Kinney and Trisha Bucknall, representing Ontario West will be making their debut at their first National Championships and taking full advantage of competing at their home club for the Mixed Pairs Championships.  Kinney and Bucknall began bowling a few years ago and will be the youngest competitors at this event at the age of 23.   

With a strong field of players, this week of competition with be filled with action and excitement.  The Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club has had a busy time preparing to host the Championships.  “Everyone is looking forward to the arrival of the competitors from across the country, renewing old acquaintances and making lots of new ones.  We are eagerly anticipating watching some great bowls all week long” stated Val McWilliams, Chair of the Host Organizing Committee.   

The Opening Ceremonies will be first thing Friday September 16th followed by a full round robin of play.
